This is a comprehensive, full colour, A-level biology text designed to be accessible from a double award GCSE science knowledge base. The text contains clear explanations of facts and concepts, with a controlled language level to ensure accessibility for all A-level students, including those for whom English is a second language. Where relevant, the applications of biology to industry and medicine have been given. There is an appendix covering the essential chemistry in an accessible form. The text includes core and extension material, to allow differentiation for more able students and there are questions throughout the text and end-of-chapter questions to test students' understanding.
